Home Is Where The Heart Is

When Katie contacted me to schedule a session, I was excited to have the opportunity to photograph her beautiful  family, esp little man Nate and new addition Alex. We brainstormed locations and finally settled on doing it in their home to commemorate their 1 year anniversary of homeownership. We settled in their backyard for the photos. This was our session...

After I arrived, I pulled out a little bubble machine I brought hoping to break the ice with my potential tough customer. After letting him play with it, I asked to borrow it and we got him to settle for some family shots. It worked! We were buds!

We wanted to change things up a bit, so up on Dads shoulders Nate goes. Poor dad, Nate didn't have the hang of sitting on shoulders, so slouch he went and Dad had to hold him up. Such a strong Dada for holding this pose.

Playing with bubbles, Nate handed the machine over to mom to operate. I happened to capture an errant bubble here, but there are a few photos with lots of bubbles. Little Alex was very alert and watching his big brother at play.

New to sitting on Dad's shoulders, I think it's another win.

I love this photo because it captures the love and affection Nate has for his mom in how he held her face to his... and how can you go wrong with that smile!

After taking a number of pictures outside, we migrated inside and I discovered the beautiful light coming through their window and curtains. We posed one final time to close out the session.
